golang-git2go-dev software package provides Go bindings for libgit2, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install golang-git2go-dev
golang-git2go-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the golang-git2go-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep golang-git2go-dev *
You will get with golang-git2go-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
